Why I Love the Simple Internet

As everything online gets louder, more crowded, and more overwhelming, I keep coming back to one thing:

The best sites and apps are the ones that do one thing exceptionally well.

They don’t try to be everything for everyone.
They don’t clutter your brain with noise.
They’re often fast, clean, and simple.

And because of that, you actually feel good after using them.

They serve a single purpose — and they serve it perfectly.

A few examples that come to mind immediately:

Another thing you’ll notice about these types of sites:
They’re usually independent.

They're not part of some giant corporation trying to squeeze every last dollar out of you.

Instead, they do just enough to make a good living:

They aren’t optimizing for "maximum extraction" — they're optimizing for long-term trust.

And it shows.

You don't leave feeling like you’ve been milked dry.
You leave thinking, "That was great. I’ll be back."

When you think about the sites and apps you really love...
I bet they have a lot in common with these.

Fast.
Focused.
Purposeful.
Independent.
And they respect your time, your attention, and your wallet.

It’s a good reminder — in a world that's always trying to do more — that doing less but doing it great is what actually wins.
