The Best Way to Start the Day

Most people have no idea how good their mornings could be.

If you're lucky enough to live somewhere walkable, here’s a simple routine that can flip your whole day and maybe your whole week. Wake up at 5:30, clean up, throw on some flip flops, shorts, a crewneck, and start walking. No need to overthink it. Just grab your protein shake, click “Walking” on your Amazfit watch to track your calories, and head out the door.

The destination? Your local coffee shop. Not because the coffee is amazing, it’s probably just okay, but because it sets the tone. You walk in, grab your cup of coffee, pour your protein shake into it (yes, really), find a quiet table, set a two-hour timer, and get to work on your laptop with whatever you want.

You can write, plan, build, sketch, or just get a head start on the day of work which is usually what I do.

Then you walk back, and the rest of the day feels like you’ve already won, because you did!

I get this morning most weekdays. Maybe I skip one because I slept in, but honestly, I always feel worse when I do. The mornings I show up for are the ones where I get the most clarity, the best work, and the most momentum.

These are the best days.
