How To Be Heard
If you want to be heard, go somewhere quiet!
If you are building something cool and want to share it with the world, it is natural to go to Twitter, Instagram, Hacker News, and Product Hunt and shout it to the world!
The problem is, it is loud over there. People are consuming content at a rapid pace, and unless you've "already made it", it is incredibly difficult to stand out.
Instead, sit down and think about different spaces in which it is much easier to be heard.
Online for stock traders, there is Stocktwits. The platform doesn't use any algos to filter post and although they claim to have 9 million users, likely about 90%+ of those users are either bots and or dead accounts. That leaves about 900,000 users. As a result, it is less noisy and easier to be heard!
Facebook also isn't all that hard to be heard, because it is mostly made up of friends and family posting pictures and wishing others a Happy Birthday. As a result, something "different" such as a new business or blog post you share can really stick out!
Linkedin is also pretty good because it is primarily made up of people you know and the majority of post are just congratulating someone for another year at a company, so if you go bold and share a blog post or a new business, it should stand out! With that said, this place is starting to get a bit noisy, so if you don't get much traction, so be it.
Smaller discord groups are also a great way to be heard! In fact, so much so that I built a business that is growing month over month to help trading, investing, and business related newsletter (and blog) operators get more clicks/views/sign-ups. You can learn more about that here.
The real world (irl) is also a great place to be heard! Print out 100 flyers and go drop them off door to door, or in a mailbox, and you will be heard! Someone will slow down their life to pick up your flyer and read it.
And finally, Bear Blog. Although this place has grown, it is still pretty quiet! I have received just over 10,000 visits to this blog over the course of the year, many thanks to ranking on the Discover Page.
